1. I can’t pay with my card. What is the problem?

If you’re having problems with payment through our portal, please check with your bank if the card you’re trying to pay with has a limit for online payments and if it can be used for online payment. Additionally, check what kind of transaction authentication method you have. The most common method is a transaction authentication code. Please check that the code is entered correctly. If the transaction amount exceeds your daily limit, the transaction won’t be accepted. In that case, you will have to contact your bank to increase your daily limit by at least the amount that corresponds with your desired purchase amount.

2. Paying by bank transfer

Aside from credit card payments, on our portal, we also offer the possibility of bank transfer payments. Enter the required information and select bank transfer payment when choosing a payment method. You will receive an order confirmation email with a PDF attachment containing all the necessary payment information (IBAN, SWIFT, reference number…). Your payment will be processed within a few business days, after which you will receive an email with the confirmation for the purchased vignette. For the payment to be processed correctly and for you to receive the vignette on time, it is essential to enter the order number in the reference number and the payment description according to the instructions.
Please note that you will receive the purchased vignette within 30 minutes when paying by credit card but within a few days when paying by bank transfer.

3. My vignette was paid by bank transfer a few days ago, but I still have not received the email confirmation; what should I do?

If you paid for the vignette by bank transfer, it will take a few days for the transaction to be recorded in the account and for the vignette to be emailed. If you still have not received the vignette after a few days, please check with your bank whether all the information was entered correctly and the transaction status. If everything is in order with the bank, please contact us at nautika@htz.hr with your order number and the date of your transaction enclosed.

4. How to register on the portal?

You need to register when visiting the portal for the first time. After entering your username and email address and choosing a password, you will log in to your account on the portal. In your account, you will see a dashboard where you can change your information and password and review your orders. In the account details, you can enter personal information and information about the vessel that the system will use and populate the required fields when buying a vignette. When you visit the portal in the future, all you need to do is log in.

5. What if you forgot your password?

If you forgot your password, you will find the link “Forgot your password” under the “log in” button. When you click the link, a field will open where you can enter the email address where you wish to receive a password change notification. You must enter the portal again through the email to enter your new password.

6. Is the tourist tax necessary for vessels less than 7 metres in length with built-in berths?

The tourist tax is prescribed by the Tourist Tax Act (https://mint.gov.hr/pristup-informacijama/propisi/propisi-iz-turizma/107)
It is not necessary to pay the tourist tax for boaters for vessels less than 7 metres in length.

7. How the tourist tax is calculated

The tourist tax can be paid according to two methods, based on the vessel’s length or based on the number of overnight stays and persons staying.
If the user decides to pay the tourist tax according to vessel length (flat rate), the vignette can be bought for different periods. This option allows the user to choose the duration of the tourist tax validity period and the date from which the tourist tax (vignette) applies. The tourist tax can also be paid for several different periods of the year. The price of the tourist tax is calculated according to the price list. Tourist tax flat rate payment relates to the vessel; the number of persons staying on the vessel is irrelevant.
If the user decides to pay the tourist tax according to the number of persons for every overnight stay, the tourist tax for an overnight stay will be EUR 1.33 per person. The price of EUR 1.33 per overnight stay does not apply to categories with discounts and exemptions, which will be automatically taken into account during the calculation. The prices are set out in the price list.
For example, if 3 persons are staying on the vessel for 5 nights, the tourist tax will be calculated in the following way: 3 persons x 5 nights x EUR 1.33 = EUR 19.95
You can choose the payment method that suits you best, and that is most cost-efficient for you.
If you pay the tourist tax according to the length of the vessel, it is not necessary to pay the tourist tax according to the number of overnight stays (persons) and vice versa.

8. What happens when the purchase of a vignette is unsuccessful or the site crashes during the purchase?

If during the online tourist tax payment process, the website is not working properly or the transaction is not successful, we recommend changing the web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.) used to view the website and repeating the transaction.
If you have not received a confirmation 30 minutes after completing the transaction, please contact us at nautika@htz.hr so we can send it to you by email.
In the event of a payment error, please contact us at nautika@htz.hr. In the event of a payment error, we encourage you to check your card balance before making another payment to avoid double charges.

9. How can a tourist prove that they use a vessel only for navigation by day but not for overnight stays if they have accommodation booked on land?

If a person stays overnight on a vessel not intended for nautical tourism, they are required to pay the tourist tax for boaters through the portal https://www.nautika.evisitor.hr/ for that period, while the tax for the period spent on land should be paid separately through eVisitor if the person has their own means of access to the system (such as house owners, apartment owners, etc.), or it should be paid as part of the bill for staying at a camp, apartment or hotel. In practice, it is possible for a person to be registered for several days at a camp, apartment or hotel and be required to pay the tourist tax as part of the bill for that accommodation, but tourist tax should also be paid when staying overnight on board a vessel.
The tourist tax is paid for every overnight stay. If you are using the vessel for daytime stays and are not staying overnight, you do not have to pay the tourist tax.

10. How to prove that the tourist uses the vessel only for daytime sailing, and does not spend the night because he has reserved accommodation on land?

If a boater spends their nights only on land and does not spend more time on the vessel than what would be considered a daytime stay, they are not required to pay the additional tourist tax for staying on board the vessel. The time of departure from and return to a harbour is also important in that if the person stays on the vessel for longer than what is specified in the Ordinance as a daytime stay, it is necessary to pay the tourist tax for such a stay.

11. Other obligations and payments for boaters

The tourist tax is under the jurisdiction of the Croatian National Tourist Board. All other obligations and payments for boaters are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure.
The owner or user of a foreign vessel must register their stay or navigation at the nearest harbour authority or harbour authority branch office to regulate their required safety of navigation and pollution protection fee during their period of stay or navigation in Croatian territorial waters.
The fee will depend on the length and the total power of the propulsion system of the yacht or boat. It is also necessary to submit a valid insurance policy for the vessel and proof that the vessel is in proper working condition for navigation.
The website eNautika (eVessel https://enautika.pomorstvo.hr/#/public/dashboard) offers the possibility of calculating the safety of navigation and pollution protection fee for information purposes as well as requesting and paying the fee if the vessel is returning to Croatia.
For all additional questions, please contact us at charter@pomorstvo.hr.

12. What should be entered in the field “port of departure”?

The port of departure is a Croatian port from which you first set sail. You do not have to remain or stay overnight in the aforementioned port. Instead, it is the location of your departure in Croatia.

13. What if the tourist tax was accidentally paid for the same vessel or the same persons in the same period more than once?

If you paid the tourist tax more than once by accident, please email us all the vignettes you bought and enclose which vignettes you wish to cancel and receive a refund for.
